I arrived here at 4:30ish, dove-tailing Bruce & Bethany nicely. Tashie was in her room, propped up in her bed looking calm and peaceful. Both kitties were cuddling in her arms, and she and Philip were visiting. She asked for candles, so Terry and I gathered candles and votives. Philip returned later with a pumpkin that Ace had scooped (after a fashion) and Philip had carved. So the presence of the plump pumpkin anchors all the smaller lights we had set out on Tashie's desk. Terry looped party lights, each held in a nest of twigs, over the doorway.

I slept on a futon on the floor in Tashie's room, an arrangement made comfy through Terry's efforts with duvet & quilt. Tashie was a bit restless, and was wakeful until after 4, when she finally fell into a peaceful sleep.

Thank you so very much for this blog - very helpful for me being at a distance geographically to feel more a part of things. These photos are beautiful, and your attention to detail in describing the surroundings create such comforting images (especially love knowing her beloved kitties were with her). Like hordes of others, I feel so, so lucky to know Tash, and will continue to speak in the present when describing her because her force of spirit, and all the beauty she created in her lifetime, will remain with us always. Love, love, love, Alyson
